HTC HD2 beats Motorola Droid and Google Nexus to iPhone killer crown
Now Channel 5’s Gadget Show are clearly not Windows Mobile lovers, as anyone can realize by 2 minutes into the video, but despite this the super smartphone still beat out the much hyped Motorola Droid (in its European Milestone incarnation) and the Google Nexus, which looks rather unsophisticated next to the HTC Sense UI on the HTC HD2.
Fair win? Let us know below.
HTC HD2 beats iPhone 3GS, Droid, Nokia N900 and Palm Pre in browser test
AreaMobile.de performed a browser comparison between the leading smartphones currently on the market, and I would not have to tell HTC HD2 owners that their device would perform pretty well.
The the speed test the HTC HD2 was only second the iPhone 3GS, and equal when the site had been visited previously (see the table below)

The HTC HD2 however beat the iPhone 3GS when it came to accuracy of rendering, scoring a full 100/100 on the Acid 3 test, vs only 97 on the iPhone 3GS, and performed better than the Motorola Droid, Nokia N900, Palm Pre and of course Blackberry Storm 2 with fast loading and fluid scrolling.

Red camera issues on things other than the HD2?
From the images below, it’s clear that the HD2 isn’t alone when it comes to red tints on cameras.
This image posted over at XDA-Developers is from the HTC Touch HD.
And this is from the Motorola Droid.
And this is from GSM Arenas review of the Nokia N97.
Clearly, they all exhibit some kind of red tint, and on such a range of devices, manufacturers and even on a range of OS platforms, perhaps there’s something wrong with the camera chips themselves?
Have you got any other devices affected by the red camera issue?
HTC Touch Pro 2 vs Motorola Droid – a user review
I today stumbled across this video of a user review of the HTC Touch Pro 2 vs the Android powered Motorola Droid.
Its nice to see one of the most loved Windows Mobile handsets hold up pretty well against the most highest profile Android handset available at present. I must say however that search feature is pretty cool, but on the other hand it seems to be a slicker version of Microsoft’s Tellme service, so it may not be that enviable after all.
On a related note, a more expert opinion comes from JKontherun, who compared Windows Mobile against Android, and found the OS again holds up pretty well, winning on 3:0 on multi-tasking, user interface and desktop integration, with a tie on Outlook vs Gmail integration.
Read that comparison here.
