Sony Ericsson Xperia X2
The X2 should be out shortly, and for those who are a fan of the X1, it should be an okay update. It’s still using the MSM720X chipset though it is apparently more solid than its predecessor.
Gtrab over at XDA-Developers has posted a variety of videos of the X2, including an unboxing.

Xperia X2 on video
DailyMobile.se has published this video of Xperia X2 marketing manager Aaron Duke and Sumit Malhotra intruding the device.
Xperia X2 in silver revealed, looks better, does not have 512 MB RAM
Some new pictures of the Xperia X2 has turned up, and while one of the biggest issue, its cosmetic appearance, seems to be addressed, the pictures also reveal the device to only have around 200 MB RAM, meaning that impressive 512 MB we heard about earlier likely referred to flash ROM.
Also the picture reveals a rather standard MS7200 Qualcomm chipset, dashing any hopes of Snapdragon showing up.

Xperia X2 to have 8.1 Megapixel camera?
Coolsmartphone must have a lot sharper eyes than us, as they noticed something which should have been clear to us from the start.
On the back of the Xperia X2 the camera resolution looks to be clearly marked at 8.1 megapixels, which would make it one of the highest resolution Windows Mobile devices when it comes out.
Does this change anyone’s mind over what seems to be a rather pedestrian device? Let us know in the comments.
More Xperia X2 pictures

Is this the Xperia X2?
An Engadget tipster has sent them this picture of what is purported to be the Xperia X2. The device clearly runs Windows Mobile and has the Xperia branding, and seems to feature a Touch Pro 2-like tilting keyboard.
We can also see that it will be a 3G device with a European-type front-facing camera and that the Panels interface remains. The device however lacks the Windows Mobile 6.5 required Windows Start key, which either suggests Sony Ericsson is going with Windows Mobile 6.1 again, or they will not be complying with Microsoft’s UI guidelines.

Next Xperia handset also Windows Mobile?
While we are all aware the Xperia brand can include devices of any OS, theunwired reports that the little they have heard so far about the so-called X2 is that it will, like the Xperia X1, run on WIndows Mobile.
Certainly the device, which is already under development, wont run Android, as Sony Ericsson has comfirmed it did not join the Android Open Handset Alliance.
Some Windows Mobile critics may find this suprising, but considering Android does not even support basic phone features like video recording, and desirable advanced features like A2DP, it is pretty easy to understand.
