Once in awhile, a perfectly addicting game comes along and engages the masses. TapSplosion definitely has the chance of doing that with the Windows Phone 7 audience.

TapSplosion is a wonderfully mixed combination of difficulty, addictiveness, spot-on controls, and great presentation.

Gameplay: 5/5

In TapSplosion, you play a little character that moves around inside the screen avoiding various enemies. To kill the enemies, you tap anywhere on the screen to create an explosion. However, your ability to release explosions is limited by a recharge meter. This causes the gameplay to instantly become more complex, since you now have to plan out how soon you should attack and at what location you should attack. In addition to that, there are a variety of different enemies, including ones that will follow a set path and ones that will hoam straight towards you. To give you more of a chance, random power-ups appear while you are playing. There are five different power-ups: A stronger blast, an instant explosion when you touch it, a gravity field that sucks your enemies in, a battery that makes your weapon recharge faster, and finally an invincibility power-up. All of these power-ups are temporary, but they help keep the pace of the game going and give you more of a fighting chance.

Presentation: 5/5

The game comes out smooth as butter, with absolutely no freezes or frame rate drops. The animation of the moving character you control is spotless and fluid. The explosion effects for when you kill enemies are artfully animated and look great. The music fits the game perfectly and hasn’t managed to become repetative. And as an extra bonus, the game loads very fast!

Lasting Value: 4/5

Since the lasting value truly depends on a users own addictiveness to the game, your own lasting value could be low or high. But the game does feature a daily/weekly/all time high score tracker, which adds some great lasting value.
