These new handsets look wonderful, I will be sad to see Symbian go.It would be nice to be able to upgrade my N8 to WP7 though..

Sounds interesting to me. On the other hand Nokia owns Symbian… where would Symbian development go without Nokia? I think it would mean the end of it.

"wintel" worked for Microoft and Intel on the desktop so it's won't be suprising to see them partner up on mobiles. The suprise would be to see Nokia drop their platform to become just another manufacturer or "wintel" handsets. I don't see the upside for them following that business model. Nokia may just want MS Office apps running on their platform as a benefit for their business customers. This would be a win for Microsoft as well, just not for their mobile division….just my 2 cents worth.

There is no doubt in my mind Microsoft wants their mobile platform on Nokia phones. And there is clear evidence that Microsoft is doing whatever they can to build a stronger relationship with Nokia. Like bring Windows Live and Office to Nokia phones.

There getting close, my prediction is that there will be an announcement of a full partnership and will happen at MWC 11 where Nokia will drop their mobile platforms and work with MS only. Sounds crazy, especially to long time Nokia users, but Steve Ballmer will make sure this happens no matter what, even if theres bribing involved. And i think what we`ll get eventually is Intel/Microsoft thing happening in the phone industry.
