Turn by Turn Navigation by GPS Tuner for Windows Phone 7 has been arrived today.

Turn by Turn Navigation gives you premium quality Voice-Guided driving directions. Just simply tap a point on a map or search address/POI, then click on the pushpin and press the GO button.

It is that simple.

Leave the rest to Turn by Turn Navigation, which calculates your route based on your current GPS position and provides you with real-time turn by turn voice navigation.

I don’t mean to sound naive but does this app work with Bing Maps?

All these types of sat navs are what I want, but I want it to pre-download the map data once i have set my route so if I loose signal I dont have to worry. Why do none of these do that!

Because WP7 does not have this functionality directly. As a developer you can’t say – “Phone, download the map!”.

That’s a GREAT News !!! GPS Tuner is a good developer (Outdoor Navigation is great).

I hope it is not based on Bing Map and rather use OpenStreetMaps.

Also, what are the other developers waiting for ??! Navigon ?

Navigon Select already exists for WP7. But at the moment only preinstalled on german T-Mobile devices. I’m using it on my Omnia 7.

– It use the terrible Bing Map.
- Maps cannot be pre-downloaded

So disappointed. I expected so much.
When can we have a real Turn-by-turn navigation software ? ? ? Not based on Bing map.

This app looks great and I congratulate the developers.

However I have to agree with the other posters. The lack of offline maps makes these turn-by-turn apps nothing more than a novelty.

I certainly would not use one for serious navigation and risk driving into an area without data coverage.

I will have to stick with Tom-Tom for now i suppose

over the air maps are great unless goes roaming

as a UK customer there is no way i would data roam in mainland europe

No preloaded maps unfortunately. So it will use Bing Map.

I tried this app and, as usual, GPS Tuner did a very good job. The icon and UI are beautiful and polished. Excellent. It works fine.
But as other posters said I regret the fact that there is no offline maps.
Also it shall be noted that it is based on Bing Map only, which is really a bad choice IMO, and that voices are only in English at this stage (without TTS).

It’s definitely an excellent software, especially for this price. I strongly recommend it.

I’m going to give it a try. Currently I’m using A&B it works well but that too does not have down loadable maps. Aside from that it works great. so I’m going to see how this does tomorrow on a short trip I’m taking

I am using A-to-B too, but the interface of turn-by-turn is definitely much more better than the one of A-to-B. Nonetheless I prefer the maps used by A-to-B, they load faster than the maps of Bing Map. I wish GPS Tuner could have used another provider than Bing.

Wow, this is a great software. I love the UI, really beautiful. Even the tile is nice.

What a pleasure to see a developer paying attention to the interface and the design.
The soft works perfectly in my country, even in trial version.
