Verizon Branded HTC Trophy Revealed

Last week, we reported that HTC Trophy may be coming to Verizon in late March. Now Engadget has got a photo of the HTC 7 Trophy device with Verizon logo at its front, which confirms the device and carrier without doubt. The device comes with the “NoDo” update pre installed and it is same as the European version of the HTC 7 Trophy. Now all that remains is a release date for this device …

8 or 16gb? And, is the memory card upgradeable? Also, is this a world phone with GSM capability?
Final question: do we have a way to tether or convert the phone to a wifi hotspot yet (like wmwifirouter)?

Should be 16 gig according to the pre-order scoop from back in Dec. Cant WAIT ! Will get this for now.. and see what MICROKIA comes up with in the fall.. FINALLY my IMAGIO can be laid to REST ! RIP imagio..

Oh AFA tethering it doesnt support it out of the box.. but look on XDA .. I belive most HTS WP7 devices it can be enabled but must wired (usb) .. no wifi hotspot yet…

Yeah ! For Zune pass ! Wonder if some place like Amazon will get them .. close to launch ?

I'm also sporting an Imagio, a really good phone that was lost in the Verizon/Android kiss-fest. I've been runnnig fireslave's wp7 theme on it for months now to put a dent in my wp7 craving. It's been an adequate stopgap. Tethering or hotspotting is critcal for me since I use it with my laptop whenever I travel. Heck, if necessary infrastructure is in place (api's, etc), i'd develop a wmwifirouter type app myself.

I hear you…. I am to the point where I would just like to have a smart phone that works out of the box.. without flashing ROM and 5k apps to make it work well… I can wait for wireless tethering so long I can tether via USB.. hopefully thats as far as I have to hack to make the phone work..

Imagio is just lame really.. been holding out for WP7.. even thought about paying the ETF to go to AT&T.. but their service sux out here in the desert SW.. Hope there's an announcement soon.. nothing so far…

Hopefully they have fixed the screen issue they had in the first batch. Was my first WP7 phone and loved it but had the screen "blistering". The replacement had the same issue, if not worse but would have been from the UK's initial allocation. Nice light handset, the 8GB onboard was a bit limiting. Vodafone in the UK ended up giving me an Optimus 7 (16GB) at the same contract price as they weren't sure when the second batch was coming it.
I'd recommend it as an entry handset, nice price and feel. Just check the screen when buying. I also saw this on a colleagues Nexus One (also HTC I believe) so they may have just had a brief QA issue across multiple devices.

I can't wait for WP7 goodness on Verizon! Unfortunately I might have to, my upgrade is in July but I doubt that Verizon will have launched its second device by then. As mentioned earlier above I believe the second wave of devices will likely come along with the Mango update. I currently own a Motorola Droid X and can't in good conscious get a device that has a screen with less than 4" and doesn't have 4G nor a front facing camera. Verizon make this happen and I would be one fucking happy camper.
