Vertu phones with Windows Phone 7 coming

It probably goes without saying and is not really unexpected, but it is still nice to have Eldar ‘confirm’ Nokia Vertu handsets running Windows Phone 7 are coming.

Vertu handsets tend to be covered in gold and jewels, but still run the creaky Symbian OS inside.

Would any of out readers be tempted to splash out on a Vertu if it ran our favourite OS, or would it still be too tasteless. Let us know below.

Vertu CEO somewhat hesitantly admitted recently that they are working on Windows phones. But he said it will take a long time, one to two years. So I expect Apollo (Windows Vertu Phones next autumn at the earliest.

(Vertu is fully owned by Nokia, but it’s a separate company with CEO.)

Paradoxically, he was right when he wrote something like “software company will buy a mobile division of a hardware company.”

But there is no way he could know about Google + Moto. And I think (not sure) he mentioned price too and it was 18 bill.

These phones are hideous – even if I had the money I wouldn’t buy one.
If someone offered me one for free, I’d melt down the raw material, sell it, and buy a decent looking phone.

uhhh scratch free sapphire crystal glass with a curved screen and SAMOLED Plus…. and a non flimsy construction. The screen alone would justify the price hehe
