What does Windows phone 7 look like on a 1280×800 screen?

Zubair has tipped us off to this Vimeo video, which shows Windows Phone 7 running in an emulator at 1280×800 pixel resolution, vs the standard 800×480.

Interestingly everything is not just bigger, but it is clear that more of the panorama interface get displayed also, something which has always been suspected would be appropriate for a tablet interface.

While this video is most likely a hack and nothing to do with Microsoft’s eventual Windows Phone 7 plans, we have had some indication that we will see at least a few tablets not based on Windows 7, but rather a mobile OS, something which is being widely demanded by many.

Oh my thats what I want. If the emulator is this snappy can we expect a good processor tablet to run this like butter? Oh my imaging swiping through gorgeous zune on a tablet. I'm so excited!

To keep everyone happy why don't they just make a W(P)7 Tablet that can dual boot. W7 & WP7. Then you get the best of both Worlds. Now that would be worth buying.

because Windows Phone 7 runs on ARM and Windows 7 run on x86-64

that is why the should just use the emulator, have it a interface like media center

What is the point if the battery life is still just a few hours? ARM procs and very powerful and virtually sip the juice. Even the best x86 chips consume twice the power that a top of line ARM does. If you are built to run on it you are way better off than you are wasting cycles on yet another UI stack to push.

It looks nice but I think that it would be better if it was more of a landscape kind of swiping Metro style instead of it just being a bigger Windows Phone 7. That would change the UI some but it would still be the stylish Metro…

I wouldn't be surprise if Microsoft is secretly working on a tablet based on Windows Phone 7, since it has kept secrets so well lately. How much do we know about Windows Phone 7 before Mobile World Congress 2010?

if they show up at CES with a Windows 7 tablet just like last year, you might as well kiss their chances of going anywhere in the tablet space goodbye. I know they dont want to be canibalizing more profitable windows sales for that, but they need to bring this kind of thing to the table.

I pray Microsoft can't be that dumb to miss such an opportunity. There really is no comparison to having a slick Metro UI tablet to having a plain old (boring) desktop tablet for the sake of trying to keep Windows relevant.

Yes Windows 7/8 on a tablet would be great compared to the iPad for much more flexibility but the majority of users aren't interested in that and besides, this talk was all before we had witnessed the Metro UI.

Is it really showing that there are lots of wasted space on such big screen. I hope if WP7 is really going to tablet, it will be modified to make much better use of the empty spaces.

Fake, Fake, Fake. Look the start screen, Phone tile: there's writed "Fake GSM Network. I remember you that it's the label of WP7 emulator. And the game? In a real device there's an icon to the Xbox Live games, here no like in the emulator
EDIT: Anh, there is also the cursor of Windows Vista/7, then it's the emulator in full screen IMHO
