Who in their right mind would actually invest money in any form of WinMo phone at this time ? Sorry but still getting over my wasted A$800 on a Palm Treo Pro, If I had listened I would now be part of "The Borg" and have the latest updated phone of that ilk, instead of wondering about all those ifs and buts that are surrounding WinMo at this time.

It would be nice as a software developer, assuming Microsoft would like to actually have some apps available for WM Phone 7, that they would give us some clue as to what it is we will need to do to port our apps to it. Otherwise, sure, you just sit and wait, because why put a bunch of effort into a WM 6.5 app that you may have to throw away?

I think we can assume if it was backward compatible MS wouldn't be playing this stupid "I'll tell you later" game.

There are still going to be a large number of Windows Mobile 6.x phones on the market this year and into the next few years. I think development and support should continue through 2011.
