Windows Live Calendar Holidays go missing in UK, Australia, maybe elsewhere

no-holidays-freelancing

It seems Microsoft has forgotten all Christmas cheer, as the public holidays calendar in Windows Live, which gets synchronized down to Windows Phones automatically, are blank in both Australia and UK for the whole of 2013.

The issue has already been reported on Microsoft’s support forums on the 27th December, and apparently has been escalated, with the product team aware of it since the 2nd, but it seems the problem still persist.

Of course in the greater scheme of things this is a rather small bug, but one should be aware that if you relied on your phone to tell you when the next public holiday is it may be wise to purchase a calendar instead, at least for now.

Thanks Sam for the tip.
