Windows Mobile 6.5.3 for the HD2

Leo Hot on the heels of SSPL for the HD2, there have been numerous ROM releases.

On the WM6.5.3 front, I think mine is the only one currently available (it’s uploading as I write this) though as my HD2 is away getting repaired it may well not be the best ROM out there.

WM6.5 has been more popular, with none of the new UI changes. Itje with the TouchIT series of ROMs has an HD2 ROM here, and there is a Pdaviet ROM as well here.

I shall keep you posted on ROMs, as and when more pop up, and will (when my HD2 is back) test them and compare them if that is wanted…

The only ROM I’d be interested in is a truly clean one.

I’m not a big fan of custom ROMs because I often find out the default stuff has been replaced with stuff I don’t need. I’d rather get a clean slate and do it up for myself or just stay with the default.

Also, I still hate 6.5.3… I’m still waiting for them to make it look not crappy, but even though they’ve improved it a bit it still looks worse than 6.5.0 which I have no issue using with my average-sized fingers.

what I usually do after I flash any 6.5.3 roms I always install e-natives thechnology amarullzGreenBlack theme from over at xda….it gives it a really nice look. I then use Advance Config and set the scrollbar to 10pixels (because it doesn’t need to be huge), then turn off the scroll arrows (because they’re not needed at all). this gives me more screen real estate and looks good doing so. this theme has no bad impact on performance so you dont’ have to worry about that.

this is the theme that brandon from pocketnow thought was release from Microsoft….even though we tried to tell him countless times that it wasn’t. but all in all it’s good themes. there’s also one in blue…but I like the green one more.

How can you say it looks worse than 6.5? its the same but with a few extra bits that improve visuals a feel.

Although I do prefer the scrolling in 6.5 vs 6.5.3

    Hey l3v5y!

Not that I don’t appreciate your nice work, but I also have a WM6.5.3 ROM currently uploading:

The first one is a clean one. A version with Manila will follow.

they had to took it away as it caused problems for the Safari & Chrome users.

@admin, change the reply-color as you can barely read it on the HD2-page

Because it IS uglier… that mess of a menu bar at the bottom is aesthetically very unnerving for me.

And yes, I know about themes and editing the scrollbars, that’s what I used to do on my old phone before I got the HD2. The screen being so big and being capacitive, with the little touches HTC added like the magically enlarging scrollbars, means 6.5.0 on the HD2 is as useful and finger-friendly as 6.5.1 or 6.5.3 which look really crappy and like someone desperately trying to put lipstick on a pig, which is what they’re doing with these revisions (in addition to wasting time with releasing wM7, of course).
