Windows Mobile phones tops Krusell smartphone list, kicks iPhone out of top 10

Krusell, Swedish maker of exclusive luxury cases for smartphones worldwide has seen the iPhone dropping out of its list of top 10 devices buying cases in January 2009, to be replaced by a cadre of very capable Windows Mobile devices.

The list, which now features luminaries like the Samsung Omnia, Touch HD, Xperia X1 and the Touch Diamond, is currently topped by the very well selling Samsung Omnia.

We recently brought news that Windows Mobile outsold the iPhone in Q4 2008, and indirect indicators like this go to confirm that talks of the demise of the platform pretty unwarranted (especially if you want to sell cases)

Cases for the Touch Pro is pretty complicated. Does Krussel even make one? I guess most Touch Pro owners do not bother buying one.

I’m surprised the Omnia beat the Touch HD. The Touch HD is way better.

Yes, but the Omnia is way cheaper and more widely distributed, plus Samsung has a much biggest brandname and distribution.

I haven’t heard of anyone saying the Windows Mobile platform is dying. The only thing that might pose a real threat would be Android’s open source, but that’s a long ways off. iPhone certainly poses no threat; it may be very stylish, but it’s all fluff and no force (unless, of course, you don’t WANT to do things your way and prefer to submit to Apple).

Also, re:wreiad, although I’m a Touch HD owner, and do think it better than the Omnia, it took me a long time to decide between the two and one of the ultimate decision factors was Samsung’s stupid use of proprietary connections.

agreed…proprietary connetions…..are VERY lame and counter productive.

tho the omnia has that optical mouse…..so cool lol, idk how usable it is.

this platform is simply the best!

i see my iphone and gphone coworkers and its obvious my phone is better!
