In early 2011 there was a lot of speculation about whether Microsoft would be able to pull off the Windows Phone Mango update in 2011. Microsoft’s success seems to have taken the wind out of any similar speculation in 2012 with the Windows Phone 8 update.

Despite this however it is still good news to see the evidence of Apollo in testing around the web.  The OS has now shown up on Hitlinks, and according to their stats has been showing up on the web just this month.

The OS update is expected in Q4 2012, but there is some speculation that Microsoft is extremely eager to get the update out even earlier, which is expected to bring support for features such as HD screens and dual core processors.
