A much requested feature of the native Facebook Messaging integration in Windows Phone is the ability to send messages to off-line contacts, a feature which so far has required the Facebook app to accomplish.
MimovilWindows now reports that some-one must have thrown a switch at Microsoft and Facebook, as users are now able to initiate and send messages to Facebook contacts, even if they are off-line.
The messaging app still complains that the contact is off-line and suggests SMS instead, but the message is still delivered to your Facebook contact when they come online.
The new feature shows that Microsoft does not necessarily need to deliver a software update to Windows Phones to improve the features of the OS, muck like product reviews suddenly became available in selected countries in Europe via Bing search.
