WP7 Apps can be purchased from Zune on PC

On Windows Phone 7 the Zune desktop client will take the same role as iTunes with the iPhone. This includes allowing the purchase of applications from the desktop. At the moment, the selection of software is fairly limited, but that should soon change.

What may be of interest, is that you can purchase apps on a desktop/laptop and have them installed over the air to your device, you can also write reviews of software from the Zune on desktop.

OTA app installs sounds great to me.

I think there was something in the app submission requirements that said up to 10MB apps can be installed OTA, but larger than that have to be synced via Zune on desktop. We'll have to see at release though.

I hope they allow deeplinking to apps like they do music and podcasts.

I'd guess they would. They've got it for WM6.5, and I doubt it would be hard to extend it to WP7 apps. I guess we'll have to see though.

In the first screenshot it says "these apps aren't for you PC".

Android has that too…you buy your apps on your desktop and they will install it over the air to your phone.

The Zune software will be the "Mobile Device Center" of Windows Phone 7.
Looks like they are making it more robust, which is always good in my book.

I think it's very like for Zune devices, the one stop shop for syncing everything, content purchasing etc. It's very like iTunes in that respect – except in my experience, it doesn't suck as much.
