I wonder how many or if any Bing map apps are going make it into the OS?

Isn't there supposed to be any bing maps app because it is liked to the universal search button ?

This, I believe, i what makes us Geeks, the enjoyment and occasional bewilderment from the little surprises that either get leaked or announced without our expectation. I was pleasantly surpised too.

Cannot wait to see the rest of what MS and their partners have up their sleeves.

I think he means the Map Apps under the Silverlight-powered Bing Maps, i.e. Twitter Maps, Streetside Photos, Gas Prices, etc.

There is only a search button for Bing, there is no "universal" search button for searching across multiple services

I think you should clarify what you meant by "Bing map apps". You and I and the l33t know you meant the Map Apps under the Silverlight Bing Maps, but a couple of people here are confused and seem to think you meant just the general Bing Maps app.

You are right. I meant the apps inside the Silverlight Bing maps on the desktop like twitter maps, foursquare everywhere and such.

Nice to see that you won't need to unlock your device just to check your next upcoming event. Also I'm wondering if the app list is color coded in some fashion, it looks like particular groups may have particular colors. Lastly it will be really nice to have a built in translator app in the phone. That feature would be great for business people that do traveling to foreign countries or even causal travelers.
