wpRadioNet: New name, same great Pandora client

Several weeks ago the wpFandora team was approached by Microsoft with a trademark infringement claim from Pandora.  Pandora claimed the app name “wpFandora” was “confusingly similar” to their trademarked name “PANDORA”.  The infringement notice specified the app would be removed from the marketplace in 24 hours unless the app was hidden immediately.

The wpFandora team quickly hid the app from the marketplace and responded that they didn’t agree the infringement claim was valid.  Microsoft put them in direct contact with Pandora’s legal team and after some cordial back and forth the wpFandora team decided the quickest way to get the app back in the marketplace would be to change the name.

As of today the application is back in the marketplace with a new name wpRadioNet.  The name change required a new app submission which also included a few bug fixes as well.  The team is confident the name change won’t affect the app’s popularity and users will still prefer it over the competition.

If you haven’t tried wpRadioNet, it’s an unofficial Pandora client for Windows Phone with consistently high reviews.  Many users feel it’s the best Windows Phone Pandora client and even better than the official Pandora clients on iPhone or Android.  The app comes in two versions: a free version with ads and a paid version without ads.
