More ram vs less battery drain, and you can only pick one. Silly people expecting both and bitching out iMate or E-Ten for picking less battery drain.

I don't want to let down myself by convincing that Xperias are good phones, but I have to admit that X1 looks alot better than X2.

Despite this travesty for SE's Xperia line, I'm still hopeful... a little, that it's not the final product.

Parrotlover77, seriously, that was nonsensical at best. Why? Because the old X1 has exactly the same specs, excluding 6.5 which is hardly a leap from 6.1 anyway. And for those that pay attention to such minute detail, I'm sure they're running 6.5 ROM images anyway. To the outsider, 6.5 will look no more innovative than 6.1 anyhow.

Oh, and you forgot to address the most important issue, the dirt-cheap, as-good-as-dirt, MSM7000 series processor.

It's a fail-fail situation.

Not hoping any luck for SE here.

i'm sorry...but thats as ignorant as it gets. because YOU aren't able to take full advantage of the ram that you have on your device means that no one out there does? thats pure ignorance.

i for one was also hoping that MS would kick up the device hardware requirements a lot more than the 400 mhz and 128 mb of ram. I mean...this is basicaly the HTC TyTN II/Tilt that was released 2 full years ago. If MS really wants to kick up the WM experience, so that developers can design apps that actually impress people...they should have boosted this to 500 mhz and at least 256 MB or ram. I'm sure developers and designers would be able to make apps that were much better looking if they didn't have to limit the file size, ram requirements, and process power that the app commanded.

i for one wonder what the price different to HTC would have been to include the snapdragon and boost ram to an even 512 for the TP2. i can almost guarantee 80% of the people eyeing the TP2 would have been more than willing to pay it

You make me angry.

512 is not pointless when you have a processor that can make use of it. I multitask on my touchpro all the time and when i get around 84% ram usage, the phone crawls. Either winmo is not optimizing the ram or the processor is poor (and im going with the later  )

And winmo 6.5 + panels + last gen specs = FAIL.

I hope sony smartens up. Heck, all they have to do is use a processor thats been proven and id be happy. I dont even care for tegra or the others, just dont use the 7XXX chipset. IT SUCKS!

This is just a prototype. AFAIK, the X1 prototypes didn't have 256 MB ram either. I'm not going to get my hopes too high (i.e. when those insane "Windows 7 in an Xperia Panel" specs came out) or too low (i.e. MSM7200A) until we get the official specifications.

REAL hardware buttons (no capacitive crap) + D-Pad + WinMo 6.5 + Panels = WIN

512MB is pointless in WinMo 6.5. Each process can only address 32MB max. That's 16 processes maxing out their RAM. How many processes do you run that use more than a meg of RAM??? This is not a desktop PC, people.

I have never, ever, used more than 65% of my Touch Pro's RAM and I multitask A LOT. That's 185MB. 200 is plenty. 256 would be better, though, I must admit! But 512? That's completely useless.
