Youtube listed among apps being tested on the WP7 marketplace

Developer Justin Angel, has just posted a collage of icons featuring all apps currently testing in the marketplace. The most notable one is a Youtube app located in the Music hub that now essentially removes one more obstacle towards widespread adoption of WP7. The only other interesting app is ATT UVerse, which together with all the news yesterday about all the WP7 devices coming to the carrier, cements the notion that ATT will indeed be a premier carrier for WP7.

Didn't know it can add plugins to Music Hub. I was thought no multitasking in WP7 means no hope to listen non-MS services music in the background. Hope to see more plugins coming.

The videos and pictures hub definitely does.

The People hub should as well, if you have some new social service you should be able to connect your apps data feed to that hub as well.

The thing is that some hubs are more extensible than others, by nature.

The other interesting bit here is that if they're "add-ons" to hubs, and not full apps then that's sorta a 2nd market for devs to target as well.

Tieing into one of the hubs probably takes most of the work a dev has to do out of the way since it's there and the APIs are there etc. Then if you want to write a full app on your own you can do so as well, and charge a bit more, for that.

WP7 will succeed where Palm failed because of the depth of apps and backing of developers right out of the gate. So far, im expecting hundreds, maybe even 1000 apps available on launch day. Hopefully i'll be able to get a phone on Sprint on launch day.
