Zombie game shows another Windows Phone 7 3D engine in action

EvoFx Studio has posted this brief preview of his Zombie game for Windows Phone 7, using his EvoFx game Engine, which has a particular emphasis on lighting, using a deferred lighting system with ray tracing.

Fast forward to the 6:00 min mark for some great screenshots of the game.

On the xbox 360 the EvoFx Games Engine features:

First the Content Processors.

Non Textured objects – transparent and Non transparent Objects
Textured objects – transparent and Non transparent Objects
Bump mapped objects – transparent and Non transparent Objects
Parallax mapped objects – transparent and Non transparent Objects
Relief mapped objects – transparent and Non transparent Objects
Vegetation Tree – include advance physics to simulate wind effect
Vegetation Bush – include advance physics to simulate wind effect
Vegetation Grass – include advance physics to simulate wind effect
Vegetation Fern – include advance physics to simulate wind effect
Vegetation Plant – include advance physics to simulate wind effect
Animations – transparent , Textured , bump , Parallax mesh of fbx fileformat
Sky – include advance Day and night system to simulate any time
Cloud – transparent volumetric Parallax mapped system
Water – transparent volumetric Parallax mapped – water physics for true water animations , 1024×1024 height map
Terrain – terrain geo mip mapping by 4 levels – 1024×1024 height map , 3 blend maps per.sector
volumetric fog – Distance based bounding box fog
Particle – Parallax or bump , explosions , missile trail , fire
water Collision
Vertex collision detections
Effect – Microsoft XNA HLSL shader processor
Texture – Microsoft XNA processor
Audio – Microsoft XNA xact 3D audio system

The Engine. Main Core

128bit rendertarget on xp,vista and xbox360 64bit render target in full HDR
the engine runs 85% on the shader pipeline

Light

the sky render is atmospheric scattering based on raylight and mie
the main lightning system based on ray trace of light beams and
subsurface scattering of 3d objects and light penetration of 3d objects
adapt sunlight for all 3d objects in the scene from the sky

Shadows

Depthbuffer pixelated shadows with softone for pixel perfect shadows

The results of porting the software to Windows Phone 7 is clearly spectacular, and suggests that lack of access to native code may not be so limiting after all.

Misleading. The video shows their engine on XBox and PC, and then some renders for WP7… Phone can't achieve that quality, because you don't have access to shadres.

If you're going to make a video of you engine, make it interesting. i got bored after the first minute of watching a sandy beach. Then there was another five minutes of that, followed by two brief static screenshots of an underwhelming street.

The engine may be great (at least on the other platforms that support shaders), but you put people to sleep with that video.

Hello I'am the Maker of EvoFx Games Engine and My Name Is Michael
First i will say thank you for posteing this and second the first and second part of the video is running on Xbox360 and Pc , and the still screen shot is running on Windows Phone 7
and yes the are cool light on windows 7 you just need to now how program the dam thing
all the zombies and action , gameplay is running 100% realtime with dynamic shadows volumes and light ,you will the official preview wicth is comming at the end of this month more like 28-09-2010
That day is my birthday and i turn 40 years.

The performance is better that iPhone 4 and ipad.

and the graphics is better on windows phone 7
you probably know that windows phone 7 is powered from 1 to 1.3 ghz arm processor and a fast graphics card with support pixels shader 3.0 , it is a Directx 11 class hardware level 9
and there are 5 built in shaders at this Christmas, in the future I think microsoft will open up for custom shaders , you see you have to make sure that you keep the battery under control , so you don’t have the same problems that you have on iPhone , if you play some games , you have to charge 2 times a day.
